Meet Bob Sproul
Bob Sproul has spent a lifetime serving the Brantford community.
As a firefighter and leader, Bob built his career around teamwork, accountability, calm decision-making, and helping people during difficult moments. Through decades of public service, he developed a practical, people-first approach focused on listening, problem-solving, and bringing people together.
As a longtime resident and small business owner, Bob understands both the opportunities and challenges facing Ward 1 today.
He believes good leadership starts with being accessible, respectful, and connected to the people you serve.
Above all, Bob believes trust matters.
“Ward 1 has been my home since 2001, and Brantford has given so much to me and my family over the years. I believe it’s important to continue giving back through strong, community-focused leadership.”

Public Safety is about more than emergency response - It’s about building safe, healthy, and resilient communities. My experience serving Brantford on the frontlines has given me firsthand insight into the importance of investing in the services that protect our residents and support our neighbourhoods.

We need to get Brantford moving again. Too many families are spending unnecessary time stuck in traffic instead of time at home with loved ones. I will advocate for practical transportation improvements and infrastructure investments that reduce congestion and help our city move more efficiently.

A strong community is one that looks after everyone. I’ve been proud to serve as a former Campaign Chair and currently Board Member with Brant United Way, as well as a Current Board Member with Participation Support Services. Through these rolls, I’ve seen the importance of investing in programs and partnerships that support vulnerable individuals and families in our community. I believe City hall must continue working collaboratively to ensure no one is left behind.
